WPCC now accepting online applications for security rebates

The Waite Park Community Council is now accepting online applications for its safety and security rebate program.

The neighborhood program offers residential and commercial property owners up to $100 to cover expenses related to eligible safety and security enhancements.

All properties in the Waite Park neighborhood may receive a rebate without regard to participation in other or previous WPCC programs. Multiple applications may be submitted, but the total of rebates for any property is limited to $100 per property.

WPCC reserves the right to verify through inspection that claimed work/purchases were, in fact, installed.

Waite Park neighborhood survey deadline extended to Sept. 10

The Waite Park Community Council has extended the deadline for submitting responses to our 2022 survey until September 10.

As an organization, we strive to create and nurture a neighborhood where all identities are welcomed, included and celebrated. Help us understand how we can achieve this goal by best serving you! 

We invite you to share your ideas, experiences, and perspective to inform future organizational programming and priorities. Your responses are anonymous and will be collected to elevate common themes, ideas and priorities. 

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to share your feedback. You can:

• Complete digital survey online (surveys also available in Hmong, Spanish, Oromo and Somali)

• Complete paper form (enclosed in the recent Waite Park Voice print newsletter). You may fold and mail the survey to the address printed on the back, or bring it to one of the following drop off locations:

  • Mt Carmel Lutheran Church, 1701 St Anthony Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55418

The deadline to complete the survey is September 10th.

You will have a chance to learn about the results of the community-wide survey in late fall 2022.

Waite Park neighborhood climate committee to meet July 14

We invite you to join us for the inaugural meeting of the Waite Park neighborhood climate committee on Thursday, July 14, at 6:30pm. The meeting will take place outdoors at Waite Park.

This is a project of the Waite Park Community Council. Our objective is to facilitate a long-term conversation about how we can create a more just, sustainable and resilient neighborhood as our planet warms.

Our special guest for this meeting will be Laura Benson, an Audubon Park neighborhood resident who is involved with the campaign for the Minneapolis People's Climate and Equity Plan.

If the meeting site is not visible from the south Rec Center doors, we will post information about where to find us there. In the event of rain, the meeting will take place on Zoom. Please RSVP here so that we can keep in touch and share information if meeting details change.
